New Year in the Lake District

We had a fantastic time with Jus and Shanners at a small log cabin ("Artists View") near Keswick over New Year. The cabin was at the foot of Latrigg and Skiddaw, with all mod cons as well as being pretty secluded and quiet (except for our Fireworks which we had brought with us ...)

To blow out the cobwebs and welcome in the New Year we took a trip up, amongst the frost and ice, to a small viewpoint above Derwent Water where I was able to grab a few images. Cold but spectacular.
On the way back for lunch, we spotted this little jetty (and a few people preparing for a New Years Day swim .... Brrrrrr!)We popped into Ambleside for a wander 'round after lunch, which meant a quick stop for another couple of shots of the frost and ice on Thirlmere, really spectacular.
